First Baptist Church of Pittsburg, CA is seeking a part-time musician to participate in the leadership of the Music Ministry. The ideal person will serve with other team members in executing worship for our weekly Sunday Worship service. The selected candidate must demonstrate experience in executing various styles of music, and ministry expressions with choirs, praise team, and fine arts. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate instrumentally in the entire worship experience from call to worship thru the benediction, during weekly 8am and 11am Sunday worship services and special events.
Attend and lead weekly choir and praise team rehearsals.
Present and teach music to various choirs/singers.
Attend and participate in Ministry Staff meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong people skills and the ability to work harmoniously and humbly with the pastoral staff and all ministry participants, demonstrating a positive attitude of collaboration, cooperation and creativity.
- The distinct ability to enhance the music ministry through instrumental skills.
- A heart and vision for worship with experience in playing a wide range of contemporary and traditional expressions.
- Excellent musicianship, 3 to 5-year experience playing in a church.
- Able to play sensitively and know how to flow with the direction of service.
- Able to play in a band with a variety of personalities and follow a director.
- Able to teach vocal parts to a choir, individuals, or groups (in 3- and 4-part harmony, etc.)
- Must have organizational skills, with the ability to use necessary technology and applications, such as Planning Center, Social Media.
EDUCATION:
- At a minimum High School diploma
- Up to BS/BA Degree preferred
SALARY: Market rate depending on experience.
